Miss Katy is a powerhouse instructor who has been teaching dance and gymnastics since 2010. Growing up in the small town of Richmond, Illinois, she wasn’t able to enjoy the activities she grew up to love, and instead excelled in other athletics and arts, including basketball, soccer, cheerleading, band, and theatre. *Fun fact: Miss Katy was the captain of her Varsity cheer squad! She fell in love with dance while in college and began formal training in ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop, eventually joining the locally famous hip hop crew, Physical Graffiti. Since moving from Illinois to Los Angeles in 2008, she has enjoyed working her acting chops both on stage and the small screen, dancing in music videos, performing in multiple stage musicals, and growing a love and appreciation for teaching kids! Miss Katy has more than a decade of coaching experience under her belt and is truly living the dream when it comes to teaching kids how to move and groove! She is an Acrobatic Arts certified instructor, exceptional dance coach, and self-proclaimed cartwheel whisperer – she can teach anyone to do a cartwheel in 15 minutes! Kids love her wild and loud energy, creativity, and unabashed love of goofiness. Parents love her precision to detail, safety-oriented teaching, and all around kid-magnetism. An actress-turned writer-turned gymnastics and dance coach, Miss Katy brings her lifelong love of movement with her wherever she goes!
